The University of Wisconsin-Madison Division of Extension FoodWIse Program is thrilled to launch a statewide Wisconsin Harvest of the Month campaign for elementary schools!
Harvest of the Month is a great way to encourage students to try new fruits and vegetables, increase the amount of fruits and vegetables students eat, reduce food waste, grow school meal participation, and support Wisconsin farmers and the local economy.
How the campaign works
With the Wisconsin Harvest of the Month statewide campaign, each month schools and afterschool programs showcase one seasonal, Wisconsin-grown fruit or vegetable. Students taste, explore and learn about the importance of eating fruits and vegetables.
Harvest of the Month provides a flexible schedule and ready-to-use monthly materials for 12 different fruits and vegetables including:
- Posters (3 sizes, English and Spanish)
- Menu graphics
- Activity guides
- Facebook graphics (English and Spanish)
- Newsletter inserts (English and Spanish)
- Postcards for families (English and Spanish)
The promotional materials are free for everyone and available to download.
We are excited to share Harvest of the Month materials with schools, communities, and families throughout Wisconsin!
